At various points along the journey, I realized I was glad I hadn't written it at that point because the spirit and the tone would have been mirroring the very environment we were leaving. One point of reference has been helpful—the compass if you will—is reminding ourselves that Jesus is Lord and he has allowed this journey in his wise providence.
