“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” -Romans 14:17
What a profound observation Paul makes about the priorities of the Kingdom in light of his exhortations to both weak and strong believers in their approach to diets and days.
What is most important about the kingdom of God are those inward virtues of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. What does eating and drinking have to do with the kingdom? It is not that they are sinful; rather they are non-essential in the grand scheme of things. To prioritize them is to miss the point of the kingdom of God.
