“If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” -Romans 8:11
Paul concludes his point about the power of the Spirit in the life of the believer by relating it to the work of the Father who will in due course raise the believer’s body (that will die because of sin) just as he raised Christ from the dead.
This is the blessed hope of the believer—not that we will exist in eternity as bodiless spirits—but that God will give life to our mortal bodies through the Spirit that dwells in us. Jesus is the first fruits of the resurrected life of all believers.
“For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.” -1 Thessalonians 4:14
